Service-Related Student Groups
Student groups that are co-sponsored by GPSC CO are listed below. Student leaders interested in having their group co-sponsored by GPSC CO should contact the Community Outreach Coordinator.
- who to contact: Mary Johnson
- what they do: Crazies Who Care is a new student group, comprised of undergraduate and graduate students, that raises money for two organizations with close ties to the Duke community. At every home basketball game, group members take donations via FLEX or cash. They also host several different events during the year, with their main events centering around GTHC week and a Benefit Dinner at the end of the year. As an ongoing fundraiser, they also sell shirts through the Duke Store.

Habitat for Humanity
- who to contact: Christine Kinnier

- what they do: This group organizes work trips to help build houses for families living in substandard housing. No experience is required!
- who they support:Habitat for Humanity of Durham

- description: Started by Duke medical students, this group recovers usable surplus medical supplies and distributes them via Duke-affiliated projects to areas of need overseas. Volunteers are needed each week to sort, pack, and inventory new medical supplies.
Swimming with the Blue Devils
- contact: Lauren Gonzalez
- description: Started by members of the Duke Varsity Swim Team, this group gives elementary-aged Durham children the opportunity to learn how to swim - for free! Both swim instructors and other volunteers are needed!
